How to Travel to This Picturesque Spot in El Nido, Palawan

El Nido, Palawan is one of the Philippines’ top travel destinations, known for its breathtaking lagoons, pristine beaches, and limestone cliffs. If you’re planning to visit this tropical paradise, this guide covers everything you need to know about getting there.

By Air

  1. If you’re looking for the fastest way to reach El Nido, booking a direct flight to Lio Airport is your best bet. AirSWIFT is the only airline offering direct flights from Manila to El Nido, which takes approximately 1 hour and 30 minutes. This is the most convenient option for those who want to avoid long travel times and start their vacation as soon as possible.

  2. Another option is to fly with Sunlight Air, which operates flights from Clark in Pampanga to San Vicente. While you won’t be landing directly in El Nido, San Vicente is just a 3 to 4-hour van ride away. This is a great alternative for travelers coming from Northern or Central Luzon who want to avoid Manila's congested traffic.

  3. For those looking for a more budget-friendly option, multiple airlines like Philippine Airlines and Cebu Pacific offer flights from Manila and Cebu to Puerto Princesa. From there, it’s about a 6-hour road trip to El Nido. Vans are widely available, or you can opt for a Cherry Bus. While this route may be longer, the scenic drive through Palawan's countryside is an adventure in itself.

By Sea

  1. If you prefer traveling by sea, there are ferry services that connect nearby destinations to El Nido. For travelers coming from Coron, a ferry ride takes around 4 to 5 hours. This route is a great option for those who want to enjoy more of Palawan, as the journey offers stunning views of the Calamianes Islands.

  2. Alternatively, if you’re up for a longer adventure, you can take a ferry from Manila to El Nido. The trip takes about 30 hours, so it’s for those who want to enjoy a slow voyage to paradise. You’ll sail across the open sea and be greeted by El Nido’s iconic limestone cliffs as you approach.
